most of my friends have gotten the vaccines and are quite confident that it’s just what the doctor ordered.
i’m not confident with dr. fauci.
i don’t like the fact that the makers of the vaccines are not held responsible if someone taking the vac develops an illness or even death.
A big part of the rationale for vaccination is herd immunity. If there were no vaccines our healthcare systems would be overwhelmed every winter with people with flu/COVID/RSV. It is therefore important that people who want to avail themselves of a vaccine can.
I don't believe in mandatory vaccination. People should be free to choose either way. Just like their religion and politics 😉

) i grew up with duck and cover under my elementary schooldesk, the cold war, the iron curtain, the korean war, the vietnam war and i went to federal prisonas a jw conscientious objector while hippies, flower children, political activists protested and universitystudents were fired up on by troops.i grew up reading newspapers (2 of them).

i have seen many movies or shows that make a passing reference to jehovah's witnesses but very few dwell on jws.
some like a deadly devotion episode i saw once tells a true story but the portal of jws is all wrong.
by movies i am not talking of documentaries.

although we expect jehovah's witnesses to use this opportunity to say "we were right all this time", it's nonetheless a historic blow to the nhs.
This is not unique to the NHS. Look at the post office scandal. It's shocking but not particularly surprising to me, people in the UK have a tendency to hold too much reverence for the NHS and the tendency in these big organisations much like the JWs is to be protective of reputation.
And I say that as someone from the UK.

i read a comment somewhere that having a beard ( before such was allowed) was never a disfellowshippable offence.
but does that mean that no-one who grew a beard was ever eventually disfellowshipped?.
growing a beard when such was frowned upon would surely attract the attention of those with nothing better to do, and possibly lead to sniffing around to try and find things that the "disobedient" one was up to.
Having a beard was sometimes used as evidence of having a "poor/rebellious attitude" which can lead to disfellowshiping. So although it wouldn't be cited as a reason it most certainly could be a contributing factor.
